Insurance Exchange History
Here at The Insurance Exchange, we look at what we do as more than simply selling policies. Please read our brief history and of our involvement in this great industry. The Insurance Exchange was founded by Robert M Johnson (1945-2006) in 1982 and incorporated in 1987 (see image below). During the early years of The Insurance Exchange, Robert was the charter President of the Utah Association of Health Underwriters (UAHU). As a recognized expert in group health insurance, Robert served on health advisory committees for Governors, members of Congress, the Utah Department of Insurance and in other advisory positions for several health insurance companies. At the 2001 UAHU Convention, Robert was the first ever recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” presented for service given toward industry improvement.
Marcus R Johnson joined The Insurance Exchange in 1997 as Robert’s assistant then became licensed in 1998 and continued his learning process by one of the great mentors in the business. Along with continuing his education to provide expert knowledge and customer service to his clients, Marcus has also been an active member of the UAHU and the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) for the past several years. Both organizations promote improving professionalism as well as working towards solutions to problems within the insurance industry.
Brandee Garvoille began her career in the insurance industry by working on the carrier side. She worked with IHC Health Plans (which later became SelectHealth) for almost 6 years. The Insurance Exchange recognized her talent and hired her to start working with us in 2005. She has been a valuable asset to The Insurance Exchange since that time. She brought with her an extensive understanding of all aspects of placing and servicing insurance policies that she learned from the carrier side. In 2007 Brandee obtained her insurance license which allowed her to expand her roll with The Insurance Exchange even more. As a result, Brandee plays an integral part when it comes to servicing you, the client.
